Prop A

Proposition A, or Prop A is a Local Funding Election or sometimes referred to as Voter-Approved Tax Rate Election (VATRE).

The Local Funding Election allows voters to decide whether to approve a change to the district’s tax rate to generate more local funding for day-to-day operations, like teacher pay, staffing, and programs, while simultaneously unlocking additional state funding from the State of Texas.

Unlike a bond, which pays for buildings and construction, Prop. A would fund the ongoing costs of running the district.

Prop A will not generate new debt for the school district.
