The SMART tag system is designed to increase the safety and security of students who use school bus transportation. A secure on-board tablet on each school bus records when and where students get on and off their bus and provides bus arrival notifications for school administrators and parents.

Students who use bus transportation will receive an ID card that must be used when boarding and exiting the bus. By tapping the card on the reader, the SMART tag system helps verify that students are riding the correct bus and getting off at the correct stop.
